SPS Automotive Performance joins GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS for the 2020 season, fielding Mercedes-AMG machinery in both the Sprint and Endurance Cups.
Founded in 2003, the team was previously successful in the Porsche Supercup where it won several races with Uwe Alzen. More recently it has competed in International GT Open, campaigning a Mercedes-AMG GT3 since 2017.
For 2020 it has established a new GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS programme, which is focussed on the Pro-Am class. In the Endurance Cup, its #44 crew is led by multiple Silver class champion Nico Bastian, who is joined by experienced gentleman drivers Florian Sholze and Christian Hook. SPS fields a pair of cars in the Sprint Cup, with Hook partnering Tom Onslow-Cole in the #44 and Dominik Baumann alongside Valentin Pierburg in the #20 machine.
SPS Automotive Performance is based in Willsbach, south-west Germany. Aside from its racing activities, the company also runs a full service centre for high-performance vehicles.
