2025 ENTRY: Aston Martin Racing adds Spa 24 winner to factory driver line-up

Christian Krognes has joined Aston Martin Racing’s works driver line-up for 2025 and will represent the British marque in this season's GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup.

The Norwegian joins Walkenhorst Motorsport – with whom he scored CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa victory in 2018 – for a Pro class assault alongside fellow factory drivers Henrique Chaves and David Pittard.

Walkenhorst will run a second Endurance Cup car in the Silver class for returnee Romain Leroux and series debutants Matteo Villagomez and Oliver Söderström. What's more, the German squad will compete in Sprint with a Pro entry driven by Chaves and Villagomez.

AMR has also confirmed that the 2024 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa winners – Nicki Thiim, Marco Sorensen and Mattia Drudi – will return to the Endurance Cup aboard the #7 Comtoyou Racing entry. The Belgian squad will field three cars in Endurance, including a Bronze class entry featuring Jessica Hawkins.

Hawkins raced in British GT last term, recording two Silver-Am class podiums at Donington Park. Her teammates in the #270 machine will be announced at a later date. The same entry will compete in Sprint with Ricardo Baptista and Rafael Suzuki, who claimed last year's Brazilian Endurance GT3 title.

Comtoyou will also maintain a Silver class programme for returning youngsters Kobe Pauwels and Matisse Lismont, who are joined by AMR Driver Academy winner Jamie Day. Pauwels and Lismont will run the full 10-round season, while Day graduates from British GT and will compete in Endurance.

“The strength in depth brought to bear by our partners in GT World Challenge Europe is a testament to the competitive level and driveability of the Vantage GT3 platform," said Adam Carter, Aston Martin Head of Endurance Motorsport.

"The car came close to winning the Pro class title in 2024, and I’m confident that the driver line-ups in place across all the divisions are capable of fighting for championship glory in 2025.

"I would like to extend a warm welcome to Christian, who is an excellent addition to the works roster and we are excited to see what he can achieve with Vantage, and also to congratulate Jessica on her graduation to European GT competition. It’s going to be a fascinating GT season, and at Aston Martin we look forward to this with eager anticipation.”

The 2025 season Prologue is currently taking place at Circuit Paul Ricard, which will also host the season-opening Endurance Cup race on 11–13 April.
