Christian Krognes has joined Aston Martin Racing’s factory roster for 2025 and will drive for Walkenhorst Motorsport in this season's GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup.
The Norwegian took 24 Hours of Spa victory at the wheel of a Walkenhorst-run BMW in 2018, and returns this year for a Pro class assault alongside fellow Aston works drivers Henrique Chaves and David Pittard. They continue aboard the #34 machine, which scored a best result of fourth last year at Spa-Francorchamps
This will be Korgnes' first Endurance outing since he raced for Walkenhorst at Spa in 2019. He has continued to represent the squad at the Nordschleife, taking the wheel of the latest-generation Vantage GT3 last year.
Walkenhorst will also run the #35 Aston Martin in the Silver class for returnee Romain Leroux and series debutants Matteo Villagomez and Oliver Söderström. Frenchman Leroux remains with the team after showing promise in 2024, the season highlight coming with a third-place finish at Monza.
Villagomez graduates to GT3 competition after winning last year's FFSA GT France title and was a front-runner in GT4 Europe. Söderström will also make his series debut aboard the #35 entry. The Swedish driver has enjoyed success in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, finishing as runner-up last year.
Walkenhorst will also field a Pro car in Sprint this year, with Chaves sharing the #35 entry with Villagomez. The German squad is at Circuit Paul Ricard this week (10/11 March) for the official season Prologue.
