GSM Racing has confirmed that it will return to the Fanatec GT Europe Sprint Cup in 2024.
The Monegasque squad has run the past two seasons in the short-format championship, fielding a solo Silver-class Lamborghini Huracán for a variety of drivers.
Remaining with the Italian marque, Andrea Grillini's team will bring newcomer Mikkel Johansen to Fanatec GT Europe next term. The 36-year-old Dane has significant experience in his homeland, most recently competing in Danish Super GT where he collected four podiums.
“I am happy to get in this championship with GSM Racing," said Johansen, who was present earlier this week for the team's launch event. "“I have been talking with Andrea about sporting projects for more than two years and the opportunity has finally arrived and we will be able to work together.”
The new livery of the team's Lamborghini was revealed during the evening, while Grillini also launched his new yacht, 'La Volga Matta', which will be available as a hotel throughout the year and during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
“I would like to thank all the guests who came to Monaco for our presentation,” said Grillini. “We are recharging our energies to start 2024 in the best possible way and to give everyone of you many new emotions and experiences."
GSM ran a total of nine drivers in the #18 Lamborghini across the 2023 Spirit Cup season. The team's best finish was achieved by James Kell and Jarrod Waberski, who were sixth in the Silver Cup at Valencia.
