Walkenhorst Motorsport has confirmed its plans for the 2023 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season.
The 2018 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa winner will field a pair of BMW M4 GT3 entries this term. One crew will enter the full 10-round championship in the Silver class, marking the team's first Fanatec GT Sprint Cup programme. The second car will compete in the Pro-Am class at Endurance rounds.
Though its driver roster is largely complete, Walkenhorst Motorsport still has one spot left to fill. Interested parties can contact the team at info@walkenhorst-motorsport.com.
BMW is set for a significantly expanded presence on this season's Fanatec GT Sprint Cup grid. The German brand has not been involved in the short-format championship since 2018, but with Walkenhorst joining Team WRT there will be at least three M4 GT3 entries this term.
Both squads will be present for the official Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS test days, which take place at Circuit Paul Ricard on 7-8 March. The Endurance season launches at Monza on 21-23 April, while the Sprint campaign gets under way at Brands Hatch on 13-14 May.
