AGS Events has become the first team to officially commit to the new Gold Cup class that will form part of next season's Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup.
The French squad will make the latest step in its progression following considerable success in GT4 competition, including titles in Championnat de France FFSA GT and the GT4 European Series. In 2022 it will field a Lamborghini Huracán in the five-round Endurance Cup, including a maiden attempt at the marquee TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.
Nicolas Gomar and Mike Parisy will continue their successful partnership behind the wheel, while youngster Loris Cabirou moves up to GT3 competition to complete the line-up. Gomar and Cabirou will make their series debuts at Imola, while Parisy is set to return to the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS grid for the first time since 2016.
The new Gold Cup class caters for three-driver crews that feature one pro alongside a Silver and a Bronze. In the case of the new AGS Events line-up, these roles are filled by Parisy, Caribou and Gomar respectively. The team also plans to undertake the Sprint Cup rounds at Magny-Cours and Misano, which coincide with its continuing GT4 commitments in the French and European championships.
AGS Events will be on-track with its Lamborghini for the official Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS test days at Circuit Paul Ricard on 7-8. The competitive action begins less than a month later, with Imola staging the season opener on 1-3 April.
