With the Blancpain Endurance Series season opener in Monza edging closer, the Zurich based racing driver Fredy Barth (34) has decided to leave the WTCC for 2014 to focus on the development of the Emil Frey Jaguar G3.
In 2012 Fredy Barth joined the newly formed Emil Frey Racing Team as both team manager and driver. For 2014 the car has undergone major development and the team starts the season in high spirits. The in-house developed Emil Frey Jaguar G3 has been completely revised, in close cooperation with internationally successful racing partners. In 2014 the Emil Frey Jaguar G3 will be competing in all rounds of the Blancpain Endurance Series. Barth's team-mates will be Lorenz Frey and former FIA GT Champion, Gabriele Gardel.
Fredy Barth: "It was a tough job for the team to build a complete infrastructure, while in parallel develop the Emil Frey Jaguar G3 with our new partner. Now I am looking forward to the upcoming challenges both on and off the track. I believe strongly in the potential of the vehicle and I am 100% focused on the Emil Frey Racing team for this season. With the 3-hour race format of the Blancpain Endurance Series and the Total 24 Hours of Spa as a highlight of the season, we have chosen the hardest GT3 championship of the world. Against the established teams we are small time amateurs. But we have done our homework and will fight hard for success."
