Barwell Motorsport has completed its plans for the 2020 GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season by finalising its Silver Cup crew.
As was the case last term, the British outfit will field a pair of Lamborghini Huracans in this season's Endurance Cup. In doing so Barwell will look to extend an impressive run of success that includes back-to-back Am class titles and Total 24 Hours of Spa class wins in the Am (2018) and Silver (2019) catgeories.
Having already revealed its Am line-up, Barwell has now set its Silver crew. Jordan Witt remains on board following a number of impressive showings in 2019, including the run to class victory at Spa.
He will be joined by two Barwell newcomers. The experienced Alex MacDowall moves to the British team after spending the 2019 season with Belgian Audi Club Team WRT, while youngster Frederik Schandorff will make his series debut this term. The Dane already knows his way around a Lamborghini, having clinched the Super Trofeo World Finals and Middle Eastern championship titles in 2019.
Barwell has also revealed that Sandy Mitchell, who competed throughout the 2018 and 2019 seasons, will return to the team as its fourth driver at the Total 24 Hours of Spa. The Lamborghini Squadra Corse junior was recently named as part of the BRDC SuperStars programme for 2020.
The Silver Cup entry will once again run in the distinctive Black Bull Whisky livery, with the company returning to the programme for a third season.
