Saintéloc Racing have revealed ambitious plans to contest the full Blancpain GT Series in 2018.
The French squad clinched outright victory in thrilling fashion at last year’s Total 24 Hours of Spa, with their Audi R8 LMS coming from over a lap down to triumph by 11 seconds at the iconic race.
Their 2018 plans have now taken shape. Saintéloc will field two cars in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, one in the Pro category and another in Pro-Am.
They will also make a strong push for the Sprint Cup title, with two of their Audi R8 LMS set to compete for Pro class honours.
With one Pro car contesting both the Endurance and Sprint championships, the Saint-Étienne team will be in contention for the overall Blancpain GT Series title this year.
Two of the drivers who secured their memorable victory at Spa will return in 2018, with both Christopher Haase and Markus Winkelhock confirmed as part of the team’s plans.
Both drivers are representatives of Audi Sport, with Haase entering his third season as part of the Saintéloc crew.
For Winkelhock, 2018 will represent a first full-scale campaign with the squad. Indeed, the German driver’s only previous outing with the team came at Spa last year and ended in victory.
Further drivers are set to be confirmed for the team’s Pro and Pro-Am cars in due course.
