Rinaldi Racing have confirmed their 2018 plans, with a bid for the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup their main objective this year.
The Mendig-based team will field a pair of Ferrari 488 GT3s, one in the Pro-Am Cup and another in the Am class.
The German squad are no strangers to the top step of the podium. They enjoyed significant success in last season’s Blancpain GT Series Pro-Am Cup, topping the overall standings as well as the Sprint Cup classification.
Their highlights included class victories at Misano, Brands Hatch, Hungaroring and Nürburgring.
Having dominated the Sprint category the German team will now switch their attention to this year’s Endurance Cup, which is headlined by the 70th edition of the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
They will once again contest the Pro-Am category using their Ferrari 488 GT3. Alexander Mattschull and Rinat Salikhov return to drive the #333 machine, with Dominik Schwager completing their three-man crew.
In addition to this programme, the team will also launch another assault on the Am Cup. Regular driver Pierre Ehret will compete for the Rinaldi outfit, with his teammates to be announced shortly.
Michele Rinaldi’s team joined the Blancpain GT Series in 2015 and were race winners in their debut season. Their Pro-Am Cup success in 2017 brought them their first titles in the series.
The team boss said of the announcement: “We are looking forward to a great 2018 season. The potential with the driver line-ups in the different racing series is huge and we hope to repeat the success of the last year.”
