The Barcelona round of the Blancpain GT Series is not only the 2017 season finale, it was also the last occasion for the drivers to compete in the Pirelli Scalextric challenge. Although they all tried their utmost best, they could not beat Bruno Spengler’s time set during the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
The Pirelli Activation Centre is again a beehive of activity during the final round of the 2017 Blancpain GT Series. The Centre, located in the centre of the paddock, not only has some impressive Pirelli products on display, fans and spectators can also try the latest racing games and compete on an impressive Scalextric slot-racing track.
All during the season the drivers of the Blancpain GT Series had a try at setting the fastest lap time on this track, and leading up to the Barcelona round Bruno Spengler (#98 ROWE Racing BMW) had the fastest time behind his name. This weekend some drivers had another go, during two exciting races. And although some proved to be more sly than others (yes, Ezequiel, we saw what you did), none managed to beat Spengler’s time. Eventually Michele Beretta finished in second and Ezequiel Perez-Companc in third.
