Nissan Motorsport has announced that Japanese racer Katsumasa Chiyo will join the line-up on the Nissan GT Academy Team RJN GT-R NISMO GT3 in the Blancpain Endurance Series. It is the first time that the 26-year-old former Japanese Formula 3 champion will compete in a championship outside his own country.
Chiyo will join the 2013 GT Academy winners Miguel Faisca (Portugal), Stanislav Aksenov (Russia), Nick McMillen (USA) and Florian Strauss (Germany). The ‘gamers-turned-racers’ are eager to follow the footsteps of their predecessors Wolfgang Reip, Mark Shulzhitskiy, and Peter Pyzera who last year conquered the Blancpain Endurance Series Pro-Am team title in their rookie year. The exact line-ups tasked with defending Nissan’s Pro-Am team title will be announced soon.
