Track action at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli starts on Friday, with two free practice sessions. The opening round of the 2016 Blancpain GT Series has 39 powerful GT3 machines on the official entry list, representing nine manufacturers.
With Technical Scrutineering and Administrative Checks now over and done with, the entry list for the Misano round of the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup can be officialized. With 39 cars at the start a new record has been set. Nine prestigious manufacturers are represented by nineteen teams, with Audi (twelve cars) and Lamborghini (seven) bringing the largest contingents to the Italian circuit near the Adriatic Coast.
The remaining 39 driver pairings will start their weekend with two 80-minute free practice sessions on Friday afternoon and evening, with the first half of the first session doubling as the Bronze test. Saturday sees Qualifying begin at 14.15, with the start of the Qualifying Race at 20.50, under Misano's floodlights. The Main Race of the opening round of the Blancpain GT Series is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, at 14.15.
