Pasin Lathouras, winner of the Pro-Am Cup in last year's Total 24 Hours of Spa, will drive an AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 in the 2016 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. The 22-year-old Thai driver will start his third season of racing in Europe, after winning the Ferrari Asia-Pacific Challenge in 2013. The names of his team-mates will be announced in due course.
Lathouras will be at the wheel of the new Ferrari 488 GT3. The latest in a long line of Prancing Horses is yet to make its GT3-race debut, but the car - equipped with 3.9 litre V8 twin turbo engine - has shown a lot of promise during testing.
Pasin Lathouras: “We thought long and hard about this year and there were many options to explore, but the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup is really the ‘jewel in the crown’. It’s the toughest out there and it was the only option we really wanted to push for. It’s not going to be easy and I’m going to have to get used to being a bit further back on the grid, but it’s really a learning year. I want to thank AF Corse for the opportunity and also to get to drive the new 488. Needless to say I’m pretty excited to get to drive this car and thanks to the team for bringing it all together.”
