Italian team ROAL Motorsports will enter the 2016 Blancpain GT Series with the new BMW M6 GT3. It is the first team that announces a program with the new GT3 car of the German manufacturer.
The Blancpain GT Series are not unknown to the team of former driver Roberto Ravaglia, since the squad competed in the series in 2014 and did the Total 24 Hours of Spa this year, with Alex Zanardi, Timo Glock and Bruno Spengler. The drivers for the BMW M6 GT3 are yet to be determined.
Roberto Ravaglia, Team Principal ROAL Motorsport: “During the previous two seasons we contested the Blancpain GT Series with the BMW Z4 GT3. We are planning to continue in the 2016 series with the new M6, but at the moment we do not know if that will be in Endurance or Sprint, or both series.”
The BMW M6 GT3 has incorporated many findings from BMW Motorsport’s works projects. When it comes to performance, the BMW M6 GT3 is uncompromising: the 4.4-litre V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, which has only been slightly modified compared to the production engine, generates up to 585 hp.
