Wolfgang Reip, together with team-mates Katsumasa Chiyo and Alex Buncombe leader in the driver standings, is one of many Blancpain Endurance Series drivers who will prepare themselves for the Total 24 Hours of Spa during this weekend’s 25 Hours VW Fun Cup. The event proves to be ideal as a preparation for the highlight of the Blancpain Endurance Series, at the end of the month.
Apart from Nissan-driver Wolfgang Reip, who will share a VW Fun Cup with Black Falcon-driver Nico Verdonck, Maxime Soulet is also participating in the 25 Hour race, as are Eric van de Poele, Jean-Karl Vernay, Robin Frijns, Stéphane Richelmi, Alexandre Viron, Mike Parisy, Oliver Bryant, Fred Vervisch, Sacha Bottemanne, Pieter Schothorst (sharing a car with Belgian Audi Club Team WRT team boss Vincent Vosse), Stéphane Lémeret and double Spa winner Frédéric Bouvy.
But that is not all. In the British GT-race, part of the build up to the 25 hours VW Fun Cup, there are also some drivers present with the aim to get to grips with the Ardennes track. There are the regular participants in the championship of course, but also the Aston Martin of Leonard Motorsport AMR, with Stuart Leonard and Michael Meadows at the wheel. Their absence at the official test day made them decide to go to Spa this weekend, to be fully ready for the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
