In 2015 Scuderia Villorba Corse will take part in the GT Sports Club with a Ferrari 458 GT3 driven by Frenchman Cedric Mezard. It is the first programme for the new sports clients division of the Italian team.
In the four rounds of the GT Sports Club, a new series created by SRO Motorsports Group and reserved for GT3 cars and bronze-rated gentlemen drivers, the squad led by Raimondo Amadio will line up French driver Cedric Mezard. In 2015 the Italian team officially inaugurates an internal division for sports clients. This ‘Racing with Ferrari’ activity extension will therefore be inaugurated by the GT Sports Club and will join Villorba Corse GT professional programmes, where, last season, the team celebrated the Blancpain Endurance Series Pro-Am title. Villorba is working to bring a second car in the GT Sports Club alongside Mezard's 458.
Raimondo Amadio (team principal): “Cedric Mezard is a friend of our team. We are glad to have him full-time in a championship for the first time. The genius of Stephane Ratel, founder and CEO of SRO Motorsports Group, was proven again by this new GT series. A well organized schedule with wonderful tracks and a fair competition among bronze drivers are the proper components for a successful season. Our intention is to have a second car in the championship to start our new division in the best possible way”.
The GT Sports Club season starts on 18-19 April, with the Espiritu de Montjuic meeting at the Catalunya Circuit near Barcelona.
