The American DragonSpeed squad has announced its complete driver line-up for the Blancpain Endurance Series season, as well as the Total 24 Hours of Spa, which will see Ryan Dalziel and Anthony Lazzaro join the Florida-based team.
Team principal Elton Julian and Swedish driver Henrik Hedman know their team-mates for the upcoming Blancpain Endurance Series. Italian Thomas Kemenater, who competed in selected rounds of the Series during the last two seasons, will share the star-spangled Ferrari 458 GT3 with Hedman and Julian in Monza, Silverstone, Le Castellet and at the Nürburgring.
During the Total 24 Hours of Spa, Ryan Dalziel and Anthony Lazzaro will join DragonSpeed. Platinum-rated Dalziel has raced at the famous Belgian track before, albeit not during the endurance classic. For Lazzaro it will be his debut at Spa-Francorchamps.
Platinum-rated Dalziel has raced at the famous Belgian track before, albeit not during the endurance classic. For Lazzaro (Silver in the FIA rankings) it will be his debut at Spa-Francorchamps. Together with Julian (Gold) and Hedman (Bronze) they represent the four different rankings at the wheel of the same car.
DragonSpeed will become the first U.S.-based team to compete in the five-round Blancpain Endurance Series, and will operate out of a base in Switzerland.
Ryan Dalziel: “I’ve known Elton for a few years now, as both driver and team owner, and been really impressed with how he’s built DragonSpeed into a serious GT team in such a short time. I am proud to join their Total 24 Hours of Spa line-up, for what I know will be a competitive effort with a well-prepared Ferrari.”
Anthony Lazarro: “I’m really excited about my first time at Spa. I’ve heard so much about the place, but what I’m really looking forward to is the moment the talking stops and I head out of the pits into Eau Rouge in a star-spangled Ferrari! Although I’ll be new to the track, I’ll be right at home in the 458 GT3. It’s a proven winner at Spa, especially in the Pro-Am category. The 458’s medium downforce character is perfect for the track and makes for excellent driveability at all skill levels and in all conditions.”
