*** Robin Knutsson put Boutsen VDS on top in a rain-hit Free Practice 2 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The Swede posted a 1m54.557s early in the session and was never likely to be beaten as the track track grew wetter.
*** The #10 Porsche, which Knutsson shares with Gilles Magnus, is entered in the Gold Cup class. It was 16 places ahead of its closest class rival.
*** Marvin Dienst was second fastest overall and quickest of all in the #87 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG. The German driver set a 1m55.005s, 0.448s off top spot, though the gap was accentuated by the worsening weather.
*** The #89 Lionspeed GP Porsche was best of the Silver Cup cars in P8 overall. Gustav Bergström, who is making his first appearance of 2026, set a 1m55.569s.
*** The Sprint Cup points leader, Lionspeed's #80 Porsche, was seventh overall. Its chief title rivals were 12th (#3 Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing), 18th (#50 AF Corse Ferrari), and 31st (#32 Team WRT BMW).
*** Having started out wet, the circuit was drenched by the time FP2 concluded. There were still plenty of cars on track, however, and the session ran without a red flag.
*** A total of 42 cars posted a classified time during FP2. The #77 KPX Motorsport BMW completed two laps but was 50 seconds off the pace, while the #6 GetSpeed Team Bartone Bros did not run.
