FP1: Lionspeed GP kicks off final title push on top of the timesheets

The championship-leading Lionspeed GP Porsche kicked off the Sprint Cup finale by going fastest in Free Practice 1 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Bastian Buus posted a 1m40.389s to put more than two tenths between himself and the nearest challenger. The young Dane and teammate Ricardo Feller begin the weekend on top of the standings with an advantage of 5.5 points and could seal the title as early as Saturday. 

Alex Aka was second quickest in the #99 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi, which led the Gold Cup class with a time of 1m40.608s. Lucas Auer put the #48 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG third, followed by the Silver Cup leader Andrea Frassineti (#66 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi).

The best of the Bronze Cup cars was next, ensuring that all of the class leaders were present among the top five. Marvin Dienst set the time in the #87 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG. 

All 44 cars turned laps during FP1, which was stopped briefly due to the #84 Eastalent Racing Audi finding the gravel. However the car was able to return to the track later in the session. 

FP2 takes place at 13:55 and will give the field another 80 minutes of track time.
