GT World Challenge powered by AWS goes full throttle on 2/3 May when the Sprint Cup launches at Brands Hatch. A field of 34 GT3 cars will tackle a pair of 60-minute races at the British track, which is legendary among fans and drivers alike as a test of skill and bravery.

The circuit celebrates a centenary of competition this year, marking the 100th anniversary of its first-ever race in 1926. That means the venue is in full party mode and, with plenty of support action and off-track entertainment, there's never been a better time to attend.

Sprint Cup launches at legendary venue

Eight world-renowned manufacturers will be on-track at Brands Hatch, with machinery from Audi, Aston Martin, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche. They are represented by global giants like AF Corse and Team WRT, as well as Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing, and British squads such as Garage 59 and Optimum Motorsport.

There are plenty of big-name drivers, too. Pick your spot trackside and watch international stars such as Valentino Rossi, Arthur Leclerc and Nicki Thiim go wheel-to-wheel with British racers Ben Green, Dean MacDonald and Chris Lulham. With close to 70 drivers on the grid this barely scratches the surface of who's racing – and all of them will be in the pit lane for an autograph session on Sunday morning.

Fierce competition among 34-car field

Team WRT has enjoyed unparalleled success in the Sprint Cup, clinching a combined 18 teams' and drivers' titles since 2013. Charles Weerts and Kelvin van der Linde lifted the trophy last year and the #32 BMW crew begins this season as firm favourite to retain the crown.

The leading challengers include Mercedes-AMG drivers Maro Engel and Lucas Auer, who beat WRT to the title in 2024 and have won two years in a row at Brands Hatch; the returning Ferrari duo of Arthur Leclerc and Thomas Neubauer; and Porsche pairing Dorian Boccolacci and Morris Schuring, who will represent Boutsen VDS.

There's also plenty of competition throughout the Gold Cup and Silver Cup classes, giving us a stacked 34-car field – the biggest this event has seen since 2016. That's despite the Bronze Cup skipping this round due to space limitations, with its first Sprint race coming later in the year at Misano.

RACE PREVIEW

Loads to see and do on Saturday and Sunday

The support line-up for this event is unlike any other you’ll see this season. In addition to GT World Challenge there will be five British series on track: the Miata Trophy, Radical Cup UK, Legends Cars, Roadsports, and Sport 2000. This adds another seven hours of competitive action – and ensures there's plenty of racing for fans to enjoy on Saturday.

There’s even more going on away from the track. The Sunday morning pit walk and autograph session is the perfect chance to meet your favourite driver and it’s always packed with likeminded fans.  As ever the event will feature a supercar display, and there will be a special track parade on Sunday afternoon to celebrate 30 years since the BPR Global GT Series first race at Brands Hatch in 1996.

As ever you can also expect to see a wide range of merchandise stalls, as well as plenty of food and drinks. Kids are well provided for too, with a funfair and adventure playground. And remember, this all takes place on a Bank Holiday weekend – so there's time to recover on Monday!

Carnival atmosphere guaranteed

If you’ve been to this event before, you’ll know that the atmosphere is something special. Brands Hatch may not be an especially large venue, but that's part of its charm. The crowd is always big so the place feels packed with passionate spectators – many wearing the colours of their favourite competitor – creating a carnival atmosphere in the Kent countryside.

The best way to fully experience a GT World event is to explore as much of the venue as possible. At Brands Hatch you can access the bustling outer paddock, which is home to the GT World Challenge team hospitality units. Be on the lookout, because you’re likely to see drivers and team bosses here throughout the weekend.

Adult tickets (16+) start at £22.00 while 13-15-year-olds and senior citizens can take advantage of discounted prices. Kids aged under 13 can attend free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.
