2026 Entry: VSR to run new Lamborghini Temerario in Sprint Cup attack

Lamborghini stalwart VSR will contest this season's GT World Sprint Cup with the Italian marque's new Temerario GT3.

Replacing the hugely successful Huracàn model, the Temerario makes its global debut this term in the hands of a select group of teams, ahead of a wider roll-out in 2027. VSR will rely on more than a decade of experience with Lamborghini machinery as it puts the new car through its paces.

The Forlì-based outfit is set to field the #163 in the Gold Cup class with Loris Spinelli and Mattia Michelotto sharing the wheel. Both drivers cut their teeth in Lamborghini Super Trofeo before stepping up to race GT3 machinery with the brand.

Michelotto has made a number of GT World appearances in recent seasons, largely with VSR and also with fellow Lambo stalwart Barwell Motorsport. Spinelli, meanwhile, spent 2025 with another Lamborghini team, Imperiale Racing.

"Myself and the whole VSR crew are extremely proud to continue our relationship with Lamborghini by being one of the first teams to race the new Temerario," said VSR boss Vincenzo Sospiri. "It will be a steep learning curve for everyone involved but we have two very competitive drivers and the invaluable support of Lamborghini Squadra Corse alongside us for this new adventure."

Rutronik Racing has already announced plans to run the full 2026 GT World campaign with the new Temerario. An additional team is set to join the Endurance grid before the season launches at Circuit Paul Ricard on the weekend of 11/12 April, while the opening Sprint Cup contest will take place at Brands Hatch on 2/3 May. Tickets for both of these events and others – including the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa – are on sale now. Click here for more information.
