Audi Sport kicked off the 2023 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season in ideal style by topping both of Tuesday's test sessions at Circuit Paul Ricard.
The #11 entry from series newcomer Comtoyou Racing topped the morning run thanks to a 1m53.294S from Gilles Magnus. While the team is yet to announce its 2023 line-ups, the Belgian driver is among those known to be in contention for a seat this term.
His time would not be beaten during the afternoon, when fellow Audi squad Tresor Attempto Racing hit the front. Factory ace Mattia Drudi posted a 1m53.726s aboard the #40 machine, which is set to compete under the Tresor Orange1 banner this term.
Saintéloc Junior Team showed well in the morning session, finishing second to fellow Audi squad Comtoyou Racing by just 0.015s, with the #998 Rowe Racing BMW placing third. Akkodis ASP was second fastest in the afternoon with its #88 Mercedes-AMG, followed by the same Rowe BMW.
The vast majority of today's running took place in bright sunshine. Light rain fell during the final hour, preventing any late changes at the top of the order, but clear weather is forecast for Wednesday.
A total of 48 cars were on-track during Tuesday's sessions, though they do not reflect the full field for the year ahead. The 2023 entry list will be revealed later today, with strong grids expected in both Sprint and Endurance.
