All 42 cars entered in the third round of the Blancpain Endurance Series took to the track at Circuit Paul Ricard for the 90 minute free practice session. Nissan drivers Katsumaso Chiyo and Alex Buncombe were quick to put the #35 and #80 Nissan GT Academy Team RJN Nissan on top of the tables, with Chiyo being the first to break the 1’58 barrier. Twenty minutes into the session Christopher Mies and his #3 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi managed to split the Nissan-drivers, but when Franck Perera took to the track in the #93 Pro GT by Almeras Porsche, the top of table changed completely. The Frenchman took advantage of his track knowledge to improve Chiyo’s time by over seven tenths of a second, and remained on top of the standings until the end of the session
Perera took top honours in Pro-Am as well, Mies remained the quickest Pro driver, and the fastest time in the Gentlemen Trophy was set by Series’ newcomer Cedric Mezard, at the wheel of the #91 Scuderia Villorba Corse Ferrari.
The Pre Qualifying Practice starts at 15.00.
