German outfit Team GT is planning to contest selected rounds of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup in 2023 with Mercedes-AMG.
Led by owner Bernhard Laber and team manager Max Penner, the Bavarian outfit stepped up to GT3 competition this term by entering the International GT Open. It also has experience of the Fanatec GT paddock, having contested the GT4 European Series in 2018 and 2019.
In 2023 Team GT plan to remain in GT Open while also testing itself in the Fanatec GT Endurance Cup. Though it is yet to settle on which events it will run, Penner commented that "preparations for this [programme] are in full swing."
The 2023 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season will begin with the traditional test days at Circuit Paul Ricard on 7-8 March. The Sprint Cup launches at Brands Hatch on 13-14 May, followed by rounds at Misano (14-16 July), Hockenheim (3-9 September), Valencia (15-17 September) and finally Zandvoort (13-15 October).
The 2023 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season will begin with the traditional test days at Circuit Paul Ricard on 7-8 March. The Endurance Cup launches at Monza on 21-23 April followed by the Circuit Paul Ricard 1000 kms (2-4 June) and the marquee CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa (29 June-2 July). The campaign will conclude with events at the Nurburgring (28-30 July) and Barcelona (29 September-1 October).
