Starting at the next Blancpain Endurance Series meeting at Le Castellet Chris van der Drift will join Shahan Sarkissian and Alex Demirdjian at the wheel of the #16 Boutsen Ginion McLaren. The 28-year-old from New Zealand has plenty of single seater experience, notably in Formula Master (champion in 2008), Formula Renault 3.5 (scoring a podium on his debut) and the Superleague Formula, where he was the team-mate of Frederic Vervisch, driver of the #15 Boutsen Ginion McLaren. Recently, the Kiwi switched to GT racing, driving a McLaren MP4-12C GT3 in different championships in 2012 and 2013.
Chris van der Drift: “It’s fantastic to drive the Boutsen Ginion McLaren, it represents a great opportunity for me. I have plenty of experience with the car and I am sure that together we can make a lot of progress. I would like to thank Alex and Shahan, without whom this would have never been possible.”
