Dinamic Motorsport led the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa as the first round of pit stops approached. Klaus Bachler moved the #54 Porsche past pole-sitter Raffaele Marciello at the start and kept the #88 AMG Team Akkodis ASP a little under a second behind throughout the first hour.
The lead change happened immediately, with Bachler blasting past Marciello through Eau Rouge and completing the pass before Raidillon. There were further changes behind as the #63 Emil Frey Racing Lamborghini passed the #2 AMG Team GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG and the #12 Audi Sport Team Tresor entry put a move on the #221 GPX Martini Racing Porsche.
But both of these cars were among a number of runners to suffer rear punctures during the opening hour, dropping them to the rear of the order. The #77 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini, the #66 Attempto Racing Audi and the #23 Heart of Racing by TF Sport Aston Martin also met with similar problems, the former losing the Gold Cup lead as a result.
The #777 Al Manar Racing by HRT Mercedes-AMG led Silver Cup having run as high as seventh overall. Alessio Picariello was equally impressive as he surged more than 20 places up the order to lead Pro-Am in the #24 Herberth Motorsport Porsche. The #57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG inherited the Gold Cup lead from the Barwell Lambo, while the #20 SPS Mercedes-AMG topped the Bronze Cup classification.
