Top sim racers set for Spa-Francorchamps showdown at SRO Esports Racing Night

• Prestigious contest to take place on-site during TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa
• Top finishers in Assetto Corsa Competizione race to share €14,500 prize pool
• Final grid slot reserved for winner of public Mobileye Hot-lap Contest

Europe's top sim drivers will descend on Spa-Francorchamps later this month to go head-to-head in a prestigious esports race staged during the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.

The SRO Esports Racing Night will bring together the continent's leading talents for a 60-minute Assetto Corsa Competizione contest staged on the daunting 7km circuit. With the green flag scheduled for 21:00 CEST on Saturday 30 July, the virtual battle will take place while the Belgian endurance classic is in full flow outside.

The action will centre on the Fanatec Esports Arena, the same high-spec space in which real-world drivers are set to contest the Fanatec Esports GT Pro Series on Friday afternoon (15:05 CEST). With 28 state-of-the-art rigs provided by Fanatec and AK Informatica, the Arena is the ideal venue for Europe’s finest sim racers to prove their skills.

The 24-car entry list includes big names such as Dáire McCormack (Mercedes-AMG), David Tonizza (Ferrari), Tobias Gronewald (Mercedes-AMG) and Nils Naujoks (BMW), all of whom will be on the grid as OEM-nominated drivers. They represent four of the current top-five in the Mobileye GT World Challenge Europe Esports Championship standings; the only name missing is James Baldwin, who will be busy making his first start in the real-world TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.

There is plenty of talent among the online qualifiers, too, while 16-year-old Luca Losio will bolster the grid as a wildcard entrant at the wheel of the #28 Mobileye BMW. A further wildcard is set to be confirmed, while the final place on the grid has been reserved for the winner of the Mobileye Hot-lap Contest, which will also run at the Fanatec Esports Arena.

Open to anyone with paddock access, the contest will give fans a chance to post their best time on Assetto Corsa Competizione between 10:00 and 16:00 on Saturday 30 July. The fastest will earn a seat for the SRO Esports Racing Night and compete for the €14,500 prize fund on offer, which includes a €6,000 payday for the winner.

Staged by SRO Motorsports Group and AK Esports in partnership with Mobileye, Fanatec, Kunos Simulazioni, Pirelli and The Sim Grid, the event will utilise the unmatched simulation of Assetto Corsa Competizione. For more information on SRO Esports, please visit www.sro-esports.com.
