After a successful debut last year, Earl Bamber Motorsport (EBM) is pleased to announce their return to the greatly anticipated Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe’s TotalEnergies 24-Hours of Spa in July 2022. This year, the team’s Pro-Am entry in what will be the 74th TotalEnergies 24-Hours of Spa will feature a double car line-up of Porsche GT3Rs.
Last year the team experienced immense success in their first ever 24-Hour endurance race, being one of only six Porsche’s to survive the night and cross the chequered flag. Now, EBM is set to return with double the force with a two-car entry; the first of which will be entered into in partnership with Singha Racing Team TP12 who previously ran with EBM at Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe’s 1000KM of Paul Ricard earlier in the season. The Kiwi-team owner and two-time Le Mans winner, Earl Bamber will take to the wheel of his own team alongside Piti Todd Bhirombhakdi (Bronze), Tanart Sathienthirakul (Silver), and Christophe Hamon (Bronze).
Hamon said he was coming to Spa with his eyes on the prize, aiming to take out a P1 in class. He was also very excited to meet his fellow team-mates, and to be sharing a car with Bamber. “Participating in the 24-Hours of Spa is a dream come true, but having the chance to compete with a great champion like Earl Bamber is an extreme privilege and I am aware of my exceptional opportunity,” Hamon stated.
EBM’s second GT3R will be entered into under EBM and will see Adrian D’Silva return to the endurance race. He will be joined by father-son duo Stephen (Bronze) and Brenton Grove (Silver), owners of the Supercars team Grove Racing in Australia, and EBM’s 2021 Porsche Carrera Challenge Young Scholarship Driver, now Grove Racing Junior Driver Matthew Payne (Silver), who also previously raced with EBM in the Creventic Series’ 12-Hours of Mugello, and the Fanatec GT World Challenge Paul Ricard race.
D’Silva stated “I am thrilled to be returning to Spa for the 24-Hour this year and look forward to working with my new team mates. I think we have a good line-up and I have gotten a lot more mileage in the car since I competed last year, so I am excited to return for another year.”
