Mercedes-AMG squad AKKA ASP has announced its first line-ups for the 2022 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season.
The French outfit has added two new drivers to its programme, brining in Casper Stevenson and Tommaso Mosca, while Thomas Drouet extends his relationship with Jerome Policand's team.
British racer Stevenson makes a full-time switch to GT racing after finishing third in the 2020 British F4 championship and sixth in last year's Euroformula Open standings. In 2022, he will run the full Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS campaign with AKKA ASP.
Stevenson's Sprint Cup partner will be French ace Drouet, who is already firmly established at the team. The 23-year-old's CV includes last year's FFSA Championat de France GT Pro-Am title, as well as Silver class wins in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS.
In the Endurance Cup, Stevenson will share the #87 Mercedes-AMG with Italian racer Mosca, who has previously made several appearances at the wheel of Audi machinery and scored an overall podium at Misano in 2020. A third driver, as well as the class in which the car will compete, is set to be announced at a later date.
A founding member of the championship, AKKA ASP is among the most successful teams in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS history. Its achievements include a number of overall titles, as well as major success in the Pro-Am and Silver Cup classes.
