SRO Motorsports Group is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Bernard Cottrell at the age of 67.
Bernard was one of the most popular, long-serving and senior members of the British motor racing community, as well as a regular in SRO Motorsports Group’s paddock thanks to his role as British GT Championship Race Director (2007-2017), former Blancpain GT Series Race Director (2013-2014) and BRSCC Chairman (2002-2017).
An ongoing battle with leukaemia forced Bernard to relinquish those roles at the end of 2017, but he retained an active presence within the sport he loved through his work with the 750 Motor Club and Motorsport UK.
The thoughts and prayers of the SRO staff, most of whom knew and worked alongside Bernard for many years, are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
