- Multi-platform agreement ensures new level of coverage in Germany
- Sky Sport F1 to broadcast race action and highlights from Europe’s premier GT3 series
- Further coverage on Sky Sport News provides greater depth
Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS will further expand its global television portfolio thanks to a new agreement between SRO Motorsports Group and Sky Deutschland.
Fans in Germany will enjoy live coverage and highlights throughout the 2021 season on the new Sky Sport F1 channel, while the free-to-air Sky Sport News will keep them informed with the latest updates from Europe’s premier GT3 series. Sky’s range of broadcasting options include linear television, on-demand through Sky Q and Sky Ticket, and digital platforms.
Programming will begin on Tuesday 11 May at 19.00, when Sky Sport F1 will air highlights of the season's opening rounds at Monza and Magny-Cours. The first live event will be next month’s trip to Zandvoort (19/20 June) and will see both 60-minute Sprint Cup races at the Dutch venue broadcast on Sky Sport F1.
The new agreement ensures television coverage in a key market for Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS. Leading manufacturers Audi, BMW, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche are all strongly represented in the series, while the Nürburgring has hosted a race annually since 2012.
The Sky brand is already closely associated with the championship thanks to a similar broadcast agreement in the UK, while leading Pro-Am team Sky Tempesta Racing carries the company's instantly recognisable logo and colour scheme. The British outfit enjoyed a highly successful 2020 season, wrapping up the Sprint Cup and combined series titles in its class.
Sky Deutschland joins a host of television broadcasters around the world, as well as live streaming on the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS website and social media channels, allowing fans to enjoy every minute of the 2021 season.
