Sky Tempesta Racing will return to Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS competition this season as it looks to build on a standout 2020 campaign.
Fielding the distinctive #93 Ferrari 488 GT3 in the Pro-Am class, the British squad earned top spot in the Sprint Cup and combined series standings last year, while its Endurance Cup campaign included runner-up finishes at Imola and the marquee Total 24 Hours of Spa.
Chris Froggatt will continue behind the wheel on a full-time basis, competing for Silver class honours in the Sprint Cup alongside newcomer Giorgio Roda. The 26-year-old brings considerable experience of Ferrari machinery and clinched last year's Italian GT championship at the wheel of a 488 GT3 run by AF Corse.
The team will field an unchanged Pro-Am line-up as it goes in pursuit of a maiden Endurance Cup crown. Froggatt will be joined for the full campaign by Eddie Cheever III and Jonathan Hui, while three-time grand prix winner Giancarlo Fisichella will once again complete the crew at the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
“Despite the delays and disruption to last season, the team did a fantastic job and we were thrilled to come away with the Pro-Am trophies," said Froggatt. "This year is all about building on that momentum and I can’t wait to get back out on track.
"Alongside our established endurance trio of Eddie Cheever, Jonathan Hui and myself, I’m looking forward to welcoming our new team-mate Giorgio Roda. He has much experience of the 488 GT3 following last year’s Italian GT Endurance Championship, and I think we’ll be a formidable duo.”
Sky Tempesta Racing made its series debut in the Endurance Cup in 2019 and expanded to a full-season programme last year. It proved to be an unstoppable force in the Sprint Cup, with its tally of seven wins from 10 races including clean sweeps at Magny-Cours and Zandvoort.
