Leading Mercedes-AMG squad AKKA ASP has added another full-season entry to the 2021 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS grid.
The French outfit confirmed its Pro entries last month, naming an all-star Endurance Cup line-up and a pair of Sprint crews. Now Jerome Policand's team has added a Silver Cup challenger as it sets its sights on yet more class glory.
Konstantin Tereschenko will contest the full season in the #87 Mercedes-AMG. The Russian will make his GT3 debut this term, but can count on considerable experience in single-seaters and prototypes. He also has a highly capable teammate in Jim Pla, who continues his long association with AKKA ASP as a full-season Silver Cup driver.
The crew will be completed at Endurance Cup events by Thomas Drouet. The 22-year Frenchman is also an established member of the AKKA ASP outfit having contested three seasons of Championnat de France FFSA GT competition with the team between 2018 and 2020. He also made a pair of Endurance Cup outings with AKKA ASP last term, taking a Pro-Am podium with Pla and Jean-Luc Beaubelique at the Nürburgring.
AKKA ASP won a combined five Silver Cup teams' and drivers' titles across 2018-2019 and its new crew will will be hoping to take the team back to the top of the class standings. Preparations will begin at the official test days at Circuit Paul Ricard (25/26 March), followed by the season-opening race at Monza on 17-19 April.
