Led by Shaun Goff since 2012, Optimum Motorsport makes its GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS debut this year with a full-pro McLaren line-up.
Prior to its European adventure the team earned significant success in British GT, winning multiple GT4 championships and the coveted overall GT3 crown in 2018. It added the Silver Cup title last year, with Ollie Wilkinson and Bradley Ellis steering the squad's Aston Martin to the top of the standings.
Wilkinson continues with Optimum for its progression to GT World Challenge Europe, while the team has made the switch to McLaren machinery with the 720S GT3. 2016 Endurance Cup champion Rob Bell and fellow factory driver Joe Osborne complete a very promising driver line-up for the Wakefield-based squad.
Optimum has bolstered its behind-the-scenes operation, too, with the vastly experienced Bas Leinders joining as team manager. It also remains active in British GT this term, with Wilkinson adding a second race programme alongside fellow McLaren development driver Lewis Proctor.
