ERC Sport is a new addition to the GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS grid for 2020, but the fledgling operation is backed up by significant race-winning experience.
Based in the Shropshire town of Market Drayton, the team was founded in 2018 by Keith Cheetham, who previously led Trackspeed's hugely successful British GT programme before moving on to spells with Triple Eight and AmD Tuning.
ERC's efforts have thus far centred around running a Mercedes-AMG GT3 for bronze-graded driver Lee Mowle, who took the team's maiden British GT win alongside Yelmer Burmaan at Rockingham in 2018. ERC and Mowle then moved to Blancpain GT Sports Sports Club in 2019, taking podiums at Monza and Misano on route to fourth overall and runner-up in the Titanium Cup standings.
For 2020 they have stepped up to GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS, contesting the Sprint Cup in the Pro-Am class. Mowle is joined by reigning Pro-Am champion Phil Keen in the #18 Mercedes-AMG GT3, adding further experience to the team's expanding programme.
