Brands Hatch extends GT World Challenge Europe deal through 2022 Published 17 January 2020 9 June 2022 Share Share page on Twitter Share page on Facebook GT World Challenge Europe will continue to visit Brands Hatch until at least 2022 following a new agreement between circuit owner MotorSport Vision (MSV) and SRO Motorsports Group.The three-year extension ensures that one of the championship's Sprint Cup rounds will head to the Kent venue for the next three seasons, including this year's previously announced fixture on the full Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.The GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup events comprise two races of one hour in length for race-prepared supercars, and form part of a larger championship structure with longer Endurance Cup rounds in the overarching GT World Challenge Europe. The championship has now fully integrated into the SRO's overall GT World Challenge structure which sees manufacturers competing over three continents in GT3-specification racing cars.The Brands Hatch round has traditionally taken place in May, and has served as the opening round of the Sprint Cup since last season. The event has become a flagship international event for the Kent venue with thousands of racegoers descending upon the circuit for a weekend of international sports car action, supercar displays and high-calibre support racing.
