The contenders for this year's Total 24 Hours of Spa are preparing to take part in one of the event's most popular annual traditions: the parade to Spa town centre.
First staged in 2002, the parade has become an immensely popular aspect of the week-long festivities that precede the Belgian endurance classic. Each year has seen it expand further, both in terms of the participating machinery and the number of fans who take part, a trend that looks set to continue at the latest edition.
As ever, all of the cars that will contest the upcoming Total 24 Hours of Spa will be part of proceedings, accounting for no fewer than 11 different GT3 brands. They will be joined by the new GT2 cars launched by leading brands Porsche and Audi, both of which are set to compete throughout the 2020 season. Representatives from the event's support races will also be among this year's parade participants.
Upon arrival in the town centre the cars will park in front of Spa Casino, giving fans an opportunity to experience them first hand. The stars of this year's Total 24 Hours of Spa will then sign autographs, before heading to the theatre for the drivers’ briefing. Finally, they will make the return journey to the Spa-Francorchamps paddock in preparation for a very busy Thursday at the circuit.
This year's parade is set to begin at 18.00 CEST, with attendance free to all fans. This will allow everyone the chance to experience the unique atmosphere of a popular Total 24 Hours of Spa tradition.
