Alessandro Pier Giudi, #70 SMP Racing Ferrari 458 Italia
“I was lucky to find an “almost clear” lap. The car was great and the team did a good job. We have to keep in mind that it is a new team in this championship, so being on pole for the first race is amazing for us and I want to say thanks to all the guys in the team because they did an incredible job. We are going to have a lot of pressure this afternoon but I think it is a good thing to be on pole for the first corner because it is a bit narrow. Doing the pole position lap in Italy was important for me because I have a lot of fans and friends here.”
Franck Perera, #34 PRO GT by Almeras Porsche 997 GT3
“We already knew yesterday in Pre-Qualifying that we were pretty fast, but it is a very good result.. It is my first race in Blancpain Endurance Series because I come from open-wheel racing and I think that it was pretty difficult to find a gap to do a good lap. On my last lap, it was the one to go for the pole lap but the white Nissan blocked me in the last corner… I almost crashed but I was lucky not to. Anyway, this is a good result.”
Lorenzo Bontempelli, #79 Kessel Racing Ferrari 458 Italia
It was a very good sensation to be here in Italy in Monza and get pole in the Gentlemen Trophy class. We are driving a car of 2012-spec and it was very difficult to do a good lap because of the traffic and the re-start after the red flag, so we are happy with the result. We are confident that we can do a good race and match this top qualifying performance.”
