Team Parker Racing has confirmed that it will return to the Blancpain GT Series in 2019, with the British squad preparing for an Endurance Cup campaign with its new-spec Bentley Continental GT3.
The upcoming season will mark Team Parker’s fourth year running Bentley machinery and coincides with the 100th anniversary of the iconic marque’s establishment. The Leicestershire squad will also resume its British GT efforts this term with the same car.
Team Parker fielded a previous-generation Continental GT3 during last year’s Endurance Cup, with Seb Morris, Derek Pierce and Rob Smith securing Pro-Am podium finishes at Monza and Circuit Paul Ricard. No drivers have yet been confirmed for the team’s 2019 programme.
The switch to a new-spec Continental GT3 will see Team Parker become the second Blancpain GT Series squad to run the car following its successful debut by M-Sport in 2018. The factory-linked effort took a runner-up finish in only the car’s third race, narrowly missing out on overall victory at Circuit Paul Ricard.
“We are delighted to continue our close working relationship with Bentley,” commented team manager Stuart Parker. “The previous generation Continental GT3 was a proven winner and we have fantastic memories of taking the British GT title with Seb Morris and Rick Parfitt Jnr in 2017.
“We’re all over the moon to be a part of Bentley’s 100th anniversary year and are looking forward to securing podiums and race wins with the car.”
Team Parker’s announcement ensures there will be at least three new-spec Bentley Continental GT3s contesting the full Endurance Cup in 2019. M-Sport has already confirmed an unchanged two-car line-up for the season ahead, with a further brace of entries set to join for the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
