In addition to the two McLaren 12C GT3s contesting the Total 24 Hours of Spa this year, Gulf Racing has announced that a display of past and present models from the ROFGO Gulf Collection will form a centrepiece on the roof of the pit garage complex at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit over the race weekend.
The collection, only once ever seen outside of the UK, comprises the most prominent sports racers and single-seaters in one of motorsport’s most famous liveries. Models on display will include the double Le Mans-winning Aston Martin DBR9, all-conquering Ford GT40, iconic Porsche 917, and a number of legendary models from McLaren including examples from Formula 1™and Can-Am, as well as short- and longtail examples of the F1 GTR.
Gulf Racing UK team’s co-owner, Mike Wainwright explained: “Spa is such an incredible circuit, and the 24 Hour event is one of the true jewels in the crown of motorsport. The Pro car entry is looking extremely strong, and with Stuart and Tim joining me and Andy, we have a great opportunity in the Pro-Am class as well. I am also really pleased that we are able to present the ROFGO collection outside the UK for the first time, and display the various cars we have to the fans, who we know travel from around the world to attend the race. It should be a fantastic weekend, both on and off the track.”
