Belgian Audi Club Team WRT have announced the drivers who will pilot their fourth entry at Zolder this weekend, completing the 22-car grid for the opening Blancpain GT Series race of 2018.
The #3 machine will be piloted by a pair of youngsters, as 18-year-old Gilles Magnus combines with 22-year-old Alessandro Picariello aboard the Audi R8 LMS.
Magnus graduates to the Blancpain GT Series from junior single-seater racing having spent 2017 competing in Formula Renault. Picariello, who has varied experience in single-seaters and sportscars, is also making his series debut this weekend. He graduates from the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup, where he was crowned champion in 2017.
The two Belgian drivers will compete for Silver Cup honours, sharing a garage with a trio of Pro class Team WRT efforts.
The Baudour-based squad are formidable competitors at Zolder, having taken a clean sweep of poles and victories at the previous two Blancpain GT Series events staged at the circuit.
Opening practice for this weekend's event gets underway today (Friday), with one-hour races on both Saturday and Sunday kicking off the 2018 season.
