On October 15th 2013, Sean Edwards, who won the first-ever FIA GT3 European Championship in 2006, was tragically killed in a coaching accident. Since then, the SRO Motorsports Group has worked with Sean’s mother, Daphne, and with the Sean Edwards Foundation she has set up in his memory, to work towards better safety for drivers.
All drivers participating in the inaugural Mazda Raceway California 8 Hours have taken the Sean Edwards Test SRO has developed with the Foundation, and which is mandatory in all SRO series. On this fourth anniversary, all drivers gathered at the front of the California 8 Hours starting grid, for a photo to commemorate Sean.
