At 05:40 this morning, Sunday July 30th, the #77 Lamborghini Huracan GT3, entered by Barwell Motorsport and driven by Adrian Amstutz, was involved in a collision with the #11 Kessel Racing 488 Ferrari GT3 of Matteo Cressoni, further to a spin in the Stavelot corner. After the heavy collision, the Lamborghini caught fire. The marshals at post T15B, the extrication team, the medical service and the fire service all reacted efficiently and with great speed.
Matteo Cressoni, in shock, was taken to hospital in Verviers for a full check-up. Adrian Amstutz was treated in the medical centre before being moved to hospital in Liège. With updates on the state of health of both drivers being reassuring, SRO Motorsports Group would like to thank the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps and its teams for the quality of their assistance, and wishes the drivers a full and speedy recovery.
