Ahead of the final round of the Blancpain Endurance Series, Gulf Racing is announcing changes to both their PRO and PRO-AM driver line-ups.
In the #69 PRO entry, Rob Bell and Adam Carroll will be joined by Tim Mullen in the place of Nico Verdonck. Mullen, who joined the team for the Spa 24 hours in the PRO-AM car said “I’m delighted that Gulf Racing have approached me to join their competitive line up for the Nürburgring event. I was really disappointed with our retirement in the #9 car at the Spa 24 hours in July, so this opportunity gives me another chance to work with the team and compete for a victory”.
In the #9 PRO-AM entry, Mike Wainwright will be joined by GT Champion Anthony Beltoise, in the place of Andy Meyrick who has conflicting commitments in the ALMS. Beltiose, who has already shown his pace in the McLaren this year with two race wins said “I was pleasantly surprised to be approached by Gulf Racing to drive with them. I didn’t have to think about it as I really wanted to race again with Mike, having enjoyed doing so 3 years ago. Of course, being in a McLaren and racing in the Blancpain Series are both familiar to me and I’m very much looking forward to joining the team at Nürburgring”.
Beltoise drove with Wainwright in the Gulf Team First Lamborghini team at Spa 24 hours in 2010.
Team Manager Matt Beers said “We’ve had to make some changes to our driver line ups for the final round, but I’m confident that the new drivers coming in will allow us to continue to be competitive in both categories and help us finish the season on a high. I’d like to thank both Andy and Nico for their contributions to the season to date.”
