With just over two hours to go in the 2015 Total 24 Hours of Spa, the #46 BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS BMW holds all the cards and could take its very first win in their home race. No room for mistakes though because the best of the Audi contingent is on the same lap.
Pro Cup
Once the #46 BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS car managed to take the lead of the race, with just under 5h30 of racing left in the Total 24 Hours of Spa, the car steadily increased its lead over the Audi Sport Team WRT’s #2 car. Nick Catsburg, Lucas Luhr, and Markus Palttala have an advantage of just under a lap over the Audi, which has the #99 Rowe Racing Mercedes SLS a lap behind it in third.
Pro-Am Cup
Stéphane Lémeret looks set to be the first Belgian racer over the line at the finish of the Ardennes classic. Leading in Pro-Am, and occupying fifth overall, Lemeret’s #47 AF Corse Ferrari red machine has a lead of over two laps on its sister car, the #51 AF Corse Ferrari. Series leaders Duncan Cameron and Matt Griffin share the #51 car with Francisco Guedes and Davide Rigon that leads the #79 Ecurie Ecosse BMW, third in class, by a lap.
Am Cup
Despite having to take a drive-through penalty for not respecting track limits, the #24 Team Parker Racing Audi continues to have a convincing lead over the #10 Akka ASP Ferrari, which itself was also penalised for an identical infringement. The fight for the podium places is not over yet, with the #111 Kessel Racing Ferrari on the same lap as the Akka ASP car hunting for the last step on the podium.
