Eight hours remain and four cars are still battling for the podium position in the 2015 Total 24 Hours of Spa. The lead changes hands head-over-fist, with the #2 Audi Sport Team WRT occupying the first position at the 16-hour mark.
Pro Cup
The #99 Rowe Racing Mercedes, that led for most of the night, dropped to fourth with eight hours to go when a long scheduled stop to change the brakes on all four corners of the car occurred. Three cars were able to take advantage of the Rowe stop; the #2 Audi Sport Team WRT inherited the lead and the BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS cars took 2nd and 3rd places. A minute separated the Rowe car from the BMWs but both BMW's incurred a penalty for overtaking under yellow that had yet to be served.
Pro-Am Cup
The #47 AF Corse Ferrari increased its lead during the early morning hours to a two lap lead over Series leaders, the #51 AF Corse Ferrari. As with the Pro Cup, the fight for Pro-Am podium positions is tight as well; with the #79 Ecurie Ecosse BMW and #44 Oman Racing Team Aston Martin on the same lap each aiming for third - or better.
Am Cup
Everything is still hunky-dory for Team Parker Racing Audi. The #24 car holds 19th position overall comfortably. The #56 Attempto Racing Porsche is still in second, two laps down, with the #111 Kessel Racing now getting a firmer grip on the last of the podium positions 30 seconds ahead of the #10 AKKA ASP Ferrari.
Next race update after 19 hours.
