#Spa24h Race Updates – Part 2

≠≠ It's been a quiet hour since we went back to green. Englster is within 0.8s of race leader Hesse after reducing the six-second gap.

≠≠ We go back to green at 02:55 with ROWE and Hesse's #998 BMW now leading on merit thanks to FCY timing. It was in the box when the caution period began, and the only leading contender that hadn't already stopped.

≠≠ Hour 11 begins under FCY as we await the #17 Mercedes-AMG's removal. FCY >> Safety Car at 02:45.

≠≠ It goes from bad to worse for GetSpeed's leading Pro car: Schiller has pulled the Mercedes-AMG over on the inside of Eau Rouge. There's no obvious damage but Schiller is reporting an incident with Di Folco and Tresor Attempto's Audi, which is now in the garage. Long FCY incoming.

≠≠ #48 is stopping 10-15 minutes ahead of the other main contenders so has just lost the lead, but again it's only taken fuel so was stationary for 40s less than a standard stop. #17's recent penalty sees GRT's Lambo and Luca Englster briefly inherit top spot as we approach the end of hour 10.

≠≠ Drive-through for race leader Stolz! GetSpeed's Mercedes-AMG caused the collision that accounted for Paradine's wheel. The extra stop will move Mann-Filter's Merc into P1 - Cairoli was just two seconds behind.

≠≠ Trouble for the #991 BMW, which initially pulls over at the Bus Stop with its front left wheel missing. Galeal has got it back to Paradine's box but that's the last we'll see of it for the time being.

≠≠ The #7 Aston Martin's charge is over, for now at least. The car is making an awful sound and it's been pulled into the box for repairs.

≠≠ That's a whole nine hours complete. Here are your class leaders at 01:30 local time on Sunday.

≠≠ The #163 Lamborghini has lost about 12 seconds in the pits. It slowed significantly as it down towards pit-out. It's going again but that will cost it the lead to the #17 Mercedes-AMG.

≠≠ That #7 Aston Martin is coming alive. Drudi goes P3, passing the #50 Ferrari, and is now just 4.4 seconds off the lead.

≠≠ The defending winner goes P4 as Mattia Drudi moves the #7 Aston Martin past the #59 McLaren of Benji Goethe. We have completed 8h35 of this race.

≠≠ Class leaders at 8h20 complete. The #33 Aston Martin is still out front in Gold, as it has been for most of this race, running P14. Silver is the #65 Ford in P19. Bronze is the #80 Porsche. And Pro-Am is the #29 Porsche.

≠≠ So with eight hours complete we're at one-third distance. That's 80 percent of a Sprint Cup season, for those keeping count.

≠≠ We're almost at eight hours complete and another rounds of stops has cycled through. The order has been jumbled, with the #163 Lamborghini now out front ahead of the #17 Mercedes and the #50 Ferrari.

≠≠ Alessio Rovera made very quick work of the #65 Ford. The Italian is now 14th as the #51 Ferrari edges towards the front.

≠≠ The #23 McLaren has just tipped the #57 Mercedes into a spin. Gold on Gold action. That could land the RJN McLaren with a penalty.

≠≠ Mercedes-AMG is one-two at the head of the field at 7h25 complete. The #51 Ferrari – a lap down at one stage – is now 16th and barely half a minute off the lead. It's making light work of the traffic but will soon be on the rear of the Pro cars. That's when we'll see how fast it is.

≠≠ We're racing again with 7h10 complete. The #48 Mercedes has jumped to the head of the order by making a quick stop. It's followed by the #17 Mercedes, the #163 Lamborghini, the #50 Ferrari and the #59 McLaren.

≠≠ The FCY becomes a safety car, purely by dint of its legnth. We are at 6h50 completed, 23:20 local time. It is dark outside, so much as it ever gets truly dark at this

≠≠ FCY at 6h40 complete. The #12 Ferrari has stopped on-track with Davide Rigon at the wheel. It looks like a technical problem, no sign of crash damage.

≠≠ Back on the circuit, the #26 Audi has stopped barely 20 minutes into its stint. That is presumably a problem for the long-time Silver Cup leader.

≠≠ We've just had fireworks. An extensive display, too. They've had no impact whatsoever on the race but they are visually impressive.

≠≠ We've hit one-quarter distance. Here are your class leaders at this juncture. It's fairly stable at the head of each class; the only recent change to note is that the #28 Audi has taken over in the lead of Pro-Am.
