PRE-QUALIFYING: Heinrich lays down a marker in Schumacher CLRT Porsche

Schumacher CLRT hit the front on home soil in tonight's Pre-Qualifying session at Circuit Paul Ricard. The #22 Porsche posted a 1m54.311s with Laurin Heinrich at the controls to gap the field by 0.135s.

Second spot was occupied by the #17 Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed, which maintained its strong form after topping Free Practice earlier in the day. Jules Gounon set a time of 1m55.446s, beating Sven Müller (#96 Rutronik Racing Porsche) by 0.040s.

The leading Gold Cup crews completed the overall top five. Best in class went to the #333 Paul Motorsport Lamborghini driven by Maximilian Paul, followed by Arthur Rougier in the #111 CSA Racing McLaren. The latter was originally slated to run in the Pro class this weekend, but has since switched its attention to Gold.

Silver Cup honours went to the #60 VSR Lamborghini thanks to a 1m55.011s from the experienced Michele Beretta, which was good enough for 10th overall. The best of the Bronze Cup runners was the #97 Rutronik Racing Porsche, which Loek Hartog placed P17 overall.

All 59 cars entered were on-track during the session, which ran without any stoppages. Among them were the #35 Walkenhorst Motorsport Aston Martin which missed the vast majority of Free Practice, while the repaired #66 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi also completed solid mileage.

Attention now turns to Saturday, which sees Qualifying run at 11:50 CEST and the main event at 18:00. All of tomorrow's action will be streamed live on the GT World YouTube channel.
