Pepper paces Pre-Qualifying under the lights in Jeddah

Jordan Pepper moved Grasser Racing to the top of the order in this evening's Pre-Qualifying session at Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

The South African ace pipped fellow Lamborghini driver Loris Spinelli (#63 Iron Lynx) to P1 by just 0.038s with a 1m59.846s lap of the Saudi venue. The #163 machine that Pepper shares with Marco Mapelli and Franck Perera sits fourth in the championship ahead of this weekend's deciding Endurance Cup contest.

The #80 Lionspeed GP Porsche showed impressive speed to place third overall and at the head of the Bronze Cup order. Bastian Buus posted a time of 1m59.895s to narrowly beat the AF Corse Francorchamps Motors Ferraris of Alessandro Pier Guidi and Thomas Neubauer respectively.

As was the case in Free Practice, Saintéloc Racing led both the Gold Cup and Silver Cup classes. In the former, Gilles Magnus placed sixth overall aboard the #25 Audi, while Kobe Pauwels put the sister #26 machine 10th on the timing screens. A total of 46 cars were on-track, with no appearance from the #35 Walkenhorst Motorsport Aston Martin following a damaging fire in Free Practice.

Having topped the earlier session, the #2 Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed entry encountered problems in Pre-Qualifying when Fabian Schiller hit the wall with less than 15 minutes on the clock. This brought the German squad's day to an early end, though Schiller was able to return to the pits and the team should be able to repair the car in good time.

Cars will be back on-track tomorrow at 11:45 for Qualifying, which sets the grid for the season-deciding Six Hours of Jeddah at 17:00. All of the action will be streamed live on the GT World YouTube channel.
